Iris Prima by Penhaligon's

Last week I ventured to the press launch for the new Penhaligon’s Iris Prima fragrance launch which was inspired by the English National Ballet in Soho.
On entry we were greeted by a mountain created with hundreds of gorgeous ballet shoes and the pretty Iris Prima bottle sat on top in a glass case surrounded by several gorgeous ballet costumes. We were then led upstairs and introduced to the beautiful new scent. The fragrance takes centre stage in their collection of stunning scents for me because it is has a very natural smell. You can immediately notice the musky leather note that represents the pointe shoe and the ballet rehearsal studio - this is mixed and complimented by other notes such as vanilla, sandalwood, bergamot, jasmine sambac and green amber. Ballet to me is something I love and still do as a continued hobby from when I was a child and the scent of this great new fragrance conjures memories of something delicate and beautiful.
Love love love.
The new Iris Prima EDP will launch in stores on 9th September in Penhaligon’s boutiques, online and in selected department stores.

Libertine by Giles Deacon

Following on from the success of his first collection exclusively for QVC, Giles Deacon is back again with a new and even more stunning range called 'Libertine'.
The title of the collection derives from the meaning of the word; “A Libertine is a person who has so much love, self awareness and lust for life. A free spirited individual that ignores constraints defined by the larger society and whose thinking goes beyond mainstream idea”. The collection features a gold tone and pieces including pendants, bracelets, rings and earrings are embellished with Swarovski crystal elements and colourful enamel – perfect for a girl who likes to experiment and have fun with her wardrobe. Even better news – the range is super stylish and completely affordable as the prices range from £17.25 to £69.96.
Giles said “The Giles Libertine jewellery collection is a mix of Edwardian eccentricity with punk attitude. In the "garden collection" which is beautiful golden thorns wrapping their way around enamel crystallised twisted bugs, or the "golden scorpion" collection with feather details – ‘Scorpy and the danglers’; also revisiting some of our favourite characters Eek mouse makes a return with a disco twist, as well as some figures developed from illustrations of fashion icons from the 30's till now. I am delighted to be launching the Libertine collection in collaboration with QVC, and to become part of their history of designer collaborations. The new jewellery line has been designed with QVC’s ever growing customer base in mind”
Invest in any of the key pieces pictured here at QVC online from 2nd June. Happy shopping ...

Diptyque Eau Mohéli

Last week I ventured to the lovely Diptyque store on Brook Street in London for the launch of the gorgeous new fragrance Eau Mohéli.
The fragrance is a tribute to the ylang-ylang flower, a flower that has an intensively sweet scent and grows on the smallest island in Comoros called Mohéli which is where its name derives from. The exotic yellow flower which is grown on such fragrant lands carries the story of all those one-way crossings or long haul voyages on the Southern Seas. The climate and the light on Mohéli give the island an exotic, escapist fragrance and in the heart of this tropical Eden, surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and the luxuriant vegetation – orchids, coconut trees, palm trees and clove trees – the ylang-ylang blooms. Interestingly ylang-ylang has never been used as a major note in a fragrance before which after smelling and testing this scent for the last week was a mistake. This floral fragrance has become one of my favourite scents instantly and I cannot get enough! Other notes that contribute to making this fragrance so perfect are pink pepper, patchouli, vetiver, ginger and benzoin.
The Eau Mohéli fragrance launched this month and is available from Diptyque in store and online now. The 100ml is £60 and the 20ml roll on fragrance is just £30.

Belle's Treatment of the Week - Eyebrow Shaping at Blink Brow Bar

Last week I ventured to the Blink Brow Bar at Fenwick's department store on New Bond Street to test their eye brow shape treatment - a treatment designed to let you leave the store with incredibly fabulous brows.
I am pleased to say I left with just that and it was not as painful as I expected! Sitting down in one of the brow bar treatment stalls, the back was pushed down and my eyebrows were being smoothed over with their Pure Rose Water Gel. The therapist then began to start removing my hairs with cotton thread, gliding across the skin ensuring each hair is removed and each eyebrow is perfectly sculpted. The hair is removed from the root leaving a clear finish with longer lasting results. I won’t lie and say it is completely painless because it hurts a little (and I have a low pain threshold) but the end effect is so worth it and I have never had that many compliments about my eyebrows in my life. They are neat and symmetrical and I am super happy. To remove the stinging, the therapist put some more Pure Rose Water Gel on and I left within 15 minutes of arriving. One piece of advice – take sunglasses as you can expect to have red brows for at least an hour after.
Get yours done at one of the brow bars across the country for just £17. For more information visit the website.

Kurt Geiger A/W 13

It is press day fever at the moment and each season I always look forward to my favourite high street shoe designer Kurt Geiger’s new creations and their A/W 13 collection does not disappoint.
The Kurt Geiger collection in particular announces the new Britton shoe, the brands signature, named after the Britton Street design studio location. The shoe radiates glamour and elegance and is razor sharp scarlet. As well as the Britton shoe, there are several beautiful creations in the collection, named after London street names such as ‘Bond’ and ‘Belgravia’.

Other Carvela and KG shoes have biker inspired detailing, gorgeous pony hair, metal heels and vibrant colours. See what to expect below. Bags are fabulous with clutches and totes and they complete the ‘everything but the dress’ mantra.

Get Me Some Marvellous Moxie Lips

Launching next month, Bare Minerals brings their Marvellous Moxie Lips collection which introduces 42 exhilarating and empowering shades.
What does Moxie stand for? Shameless sass, all-out spirit, total passion overload with plenty of attitude to match. I popped into the launch at the W Hotel in London to learn all about it. There are three different lip products – lip gloss, lipstick and lip liner. The lipsticks have a creamy super-saturated, ultra pigmented colour that glides on like butter for full coverage in a rich stain finish and comes in 18 vibrant shades. The lip liners provide fully loaded cream colour that shapes and defines the lips, available in 10 different shades. And finally my favourite – the lip gloss which has some miracle formula that makes my lips look fuller. Each gloss has naturally-derived shea, avocado and murumuru butters that deeply hydrate and smooth lips. And best of all it is not sticky and is available in 14 glistening shades! Each product is named with an appropriate title for a girl who wants to go out and have fun such as ‘Go The Distance’, ‘Never Say Never’ and ‘Risk It All’ and are definitely must have items for the make-up bag this summer.
Each lip product will be £16 and available online and in store in June.

The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Vault

Beauty news – Having only been stocked and sold in the US, the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Vault is landing in the UK as of 2nd May.
Filled with 40 shades of Urban Decay’s popular product - the Glide-On Eye Pencil (2 are sold per minute globally), you can equip yourself for every occasion whether you want some sparkles for party times or some relaxed colouring for work. A tad excessive because no one really needs 40 shades of eye pencils but it is a make-up addicts dream and is worth £560 but will only set you back £240, saving you a gulping £320! With celeb followers including Kelly Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger & Jessie J it is no wonder why it broke records in the US with its debut.
The eye pencil heaven will go on sale tomorrow exclusively at Debenhams so snap yours up before it goes out of stock!
