The setting for Nicole Farhi’s A/W collection was fabulous; I make my way to the Royal Opera House for a 2pm start to be welcomed by a champagne reception. Eager fashionistas and I await the gorgeous line and of course, the arrival of American Vogue editor Anna Wintour wearng Prada bananas. I was thoroughly excited for this show. Nicole Farhi designs have an element of class and sophistication. The Farhi girl is polished and elegant. The collection begins with a fitted sweater embellished with three-dimensional moulded sequins complimented by high-waisted tough moleskin trousers. Beautiful - high-waisted garments are always so flattering on curves. Structured masculine shapes stand out, the white oversized and pleated dress shirt in particular catches the eye. Evening wear is outstanding, sexy and sharp. A red pleated full length skirt matched with a black calfskin and chiffon waistcoat shines on the runway, while a graphite pleated open back dress draws further attention from the audience. Amazing A –line skirts and dresses, textured knits and a gorgeous range of outerwear from fitted jackets to a laminated wool coat round up this fabulous collection. White and black tights dominate with dresses and skirts. Want. Want. Want.
